Known to the Caribbean Indians as 'the fertile land', St Kitts has the only expanding rainforest in the world! Learn more about cheap Caribbean Holidays and St Kitts in the paragraphs below.

Best Beaches in St Kitts: In St Kitts, some of the most tranquil Caribbean beaches including Friar's Bay, Cockleshell Bay and Banana Bay are located on the Southeast Peninsula, an area that was previously only accessible by boat or by hiking over the steep hills.

Getting Around St Kitts: Those who wish to see parts of the island but will not be touring extensively may wish to catch a taxi or jump on a bus. Bus service is sporadic but is most dependable during the morning and afternoon in the capitals. You can usually flag down buses or taxis from the roadside outside of the city. We recommend Car hire if you wish to travel around a lot.

Places to see: We highly recommend a tour of the Capital BASSETERRE. Basseterre town is going through its share of inevitable modernization while trying to hold on to the past through its buildings, public squares, and the efforts of the business community to maintain some historic authenticity.

Seasons in St Kitts: There are no definitive seasons in St.Kitts, though you could class July to November the wet season and December to June the dry season. The climate is strongly influenced by the North East trade winds that bring welcome, cooling breezes that makes for the very agreeable temperatures enjoyed on the islands. The surrounding seas are warm year round.

Safety Issues: You should maintain vigilance at all times even when staying with family or friends. Avoid walking alone in isolated areas, including beaches, after dark. Do not carry large amounts of cash or jewellery. Valuables and travel documents should be left, where possible, in safety deposit boxes and hotel safes.
